The Last will be The First

Behind every jersey, there are stories of champions and life

Ambrogio Molteni Foundation

Mario and Pierangela Molteni set up a Foundation, and named it after their father, Ambrogio Molteni, in memory of a historic cycling team.

The Foundation's mission will be to bring concrete help to former world cycling pros who are in difficulty because they have fallen into destitution, or become victims of disabling accidents, or for various vicissitudes. The Foundation's attention may also concern cases of young talents whose path to success in professional cycling has been compromised by serious accidents.

The renewal of the brand and the image of Molteni - which has remained faithful to the graphics and colours of the time - has been functional to give a historical sense to the commitment that the family intends to carry on in cycling.

The Team that marked an Era

Molteni was the first major international team in post-war professional cycling, both for the duration in which the brand name remained on the riders’ jerseys (18 years, from 1968 to 1976), and for the impressive number of successes it achieved, 663.

The colors of Molteni have been imposed on practically every finish line thanks to the dominating seasons of Eddy Merckx - who wore the Molteni jersey for six years from 1971 to 1976 and achieved alone 246 victories - and many other great champions such as Rudy Altig, Gianni Motta, Michele Dancelli, Marino Basso.
